So this week has been particularly busy and that means that my blog post is last on my list of things to do. So it would appear that I need to have this thing written and wrapped up in the next 2 hours in order to meet my deadline for this week. But my main problem is this, what do I write about? I could bore you with some more details on my daughters adventures in mobility, or that she’s starting to move onto solid foods. But I don’t really feel like it. Sorry, but sometimes the truth hurts. Being 100% honest with you guys, I kind of what to talk about me. Not me as a father but just me.
Looking around the room that I’m in, the Xbox 360 is on and we’re sitting on the home screen. Diane is surfing the net on her computer waiting for me to finish so we can do something while the little one is asleep. This week was hard (like I said before), so I have my feet up and I’m just relaxing. You know, that thing you used to do before you had a kid. Yeah, it’s funny sometimes because I don’t know what to do with myself when I have free time. I can honestly remember being so bored when it was summer vacation in high school and wanting to go to school because I had too much free time. Not anymore. But that’s the curse of being an adult, you never know what you got until you don’t got it no more (or some other proper version of English). Also, I’m going rogue so spell checking is kind of out the window.
So a little about me: I grew up the middle child in a family of 5 with an older brother and a younger sister. My childhood was rather simple with Ninja Turtles and my brothers old He-Man. HA! I had to admit that I never actually watched the GI Joe cartoon but just played with the toys so when last summers movie came out (of the same title), my mind was literally blown when I found out the black ninja was good and the white one was bad! My youth was rocked a bit that day.
I am a big video game fan. I like to think I’m fairly good at them and my favorite types of games include everything except sports. I’m not a huge fan of doing something that I could actually do in real life. I know I can’t throw a foot ball half the field but I can still get people together for a game if I wanted to. Going through an underwater city shooting lightning bolts and firing a small chain gun, not on the agenda anytime soon.
During my off hours (when I’m not doing comics), I’m a graphic designer who likes to work in the web and sometimes print. My job is ok and sometimes it’s annoying (but who’s isn’t?). I’d love to be a full time cartoonist some day so I’m always looking forĀ opportunitiesĀ to advance my art. I’m also a blogger on the site Daddy Outpost and I’m looking to get involved with 541 Live. I’ll keep you posted if anything happens with them but I’d like to give them a shout out more then anything.
Well kiddies, I’m not sure I’m really feeling up to saying anymore then that so I’m off to play either Fable 2, Bioshock 2 or Rockband 2 (sequels are fun) so you enjoy yourself. If you want to play games with me, look up my Xbox gamertag of Thedustud. Also, feel free to follow me on Twitter for more up to date post with the screen name thedustud. And with that, you all have a good weekend and keep an eye out for new Grump Bunnies Sunday!
