Today’s comic features the return of Desmon. He’s taken some time to clear his head and comes back a new man. But can he be trusted? Violet seems to think so and can’t wait to hold him again in her arms. Time will tell if this fight is really over or not.

Also, don’t bother adjusting your monitors, today’s comic is in black and white. I’m doing this because I’m really busy trying to finish up the book and if I plan on hitting my goal, I had to do something. While I’m sorry that it doesn’t jump as much as it normally does, I don’t feel like the overall quality has been sacrificed. Needless to say, I’ll go back at some point and color these in, so when people from the future read this, they will have no clue what I’m talking about. But please be patient with me, the story will keep moving on, color or not, so please keep enjoying it. Please note that Wednesday and Friday comics will be in black and white as well. Depending on how much work I get done this week will determine next weeks color. Believe me, I don’t like having to do this, but like I said, it’s for the book.

Speaking of the book, I’d like to show you a rough mock up of the cover I have so far. Feel free to leave any comments you may have on it. I’m a graphic designer by day, so I can take any criticism you might have, in fact, I really welcome it.

First draft of first book cover

Also, over the weekend I launched the Plus One store. Right now I only have the Plus One dolls (which are in pre-order, they should be arriving soon though) but I plan on filling it with more stuff later. I’ll be using it as the main outlet for the book, shirts and other random merchandise I come up with in the future. I do apologize ahead of time if you order something and there is any problems. I’m still fine tuning the process but I can’t do it all on my own, so as orders come in, the process will get better and better.

I also have a few resources I found over the weekend that I think will be helpful for any web cartoonist.

  • First up is a blog by the creator of Bug regarding his first year of web cartooning. It’s a short but sweet read found here.
  • Second is the Webcomic Alliance. This site is full of free help for web cartoonist. I spent my first few hours just listening to the podcast which were both helpful and entertaining. I really like these guys because it’s real people talking about real problems and hopefully getting real answers. As a note, I found this off of Rick The Stick’s blog post.

Well, I feel like that’s about all I have for now. See you guys in a few days. Stay safe!

-Dustin
