Hey, we made it to Wednesday, sweet!

I wasn’t sure what was going to happen last Sunday night. I generally recall something about food and dinner followed closely by sleep. Lots of glorious sleep. I don’t believe I got enough but it was very enjoyable. As I type this, Diane is sleeping on the couch, that’s how tired we still are.

My daughter learned a new trick this week, but before I go into that, let me give you some backstory. We own a cat right now and my daughter likes to “play” with. She does her best for an almost-2-year-old but she does get really rough with him. He’s an awesome cat who will sit and take it most of the time, often looking towards us with that “you can end this anytime” look. Anyway, so we have to draw the line somewhere which usually ends with a few minute time out.

Well, the other day my daughter was chocking the cat pretty good so I put her in timeout. While in timeout, I left the door open so she’d know we didn’t abandon her and she started to say  (in between crying), “But Daddy I love you!”. It was so freakin’ cute.

Now I’m not one to get all “my daughter is so cute…” usually, but this time it was pretty awesome. For the record, it did not end her time out, she had to ride that 4 minutes all by herself but it’s good to know she’s already learning to twist emotions so.

She’s on her way to becoming a politician, lawyer or comic strip artist.
