Hello and welcome back to another year of Plus One. I hope you’ve enjoyed the first two years so far and things will only continue to gain steam as time goes on. Today’s comic is the first one out the door of my new week buffer. I know a week isn’t very long but I’m already enjoying it sooooo much. How much you say? Well, I decided yesterday that I didn’t like the story arc that I originally had in place so I added a comic to help the story. With my buffer, I can insert the new comic into Wednesday and not cause myself massive amounts of stress! Hurray!
Sorry to be so reflective right now, I just can’t get over the fact that I’ve been drawing this strip for two years now. It’s not my longest strip run, that one goes to my other store, Short Lived, which I did for 2 1/2 years in high school. With that one I did only manage to create 250 something strips, so I have pass that one in terms of contest.
The contest winner will be announced soon! For those of you who missed it, Plus One was giving away a copy of “Webcomics: What’s Cooking” to one lucky winner. We sent out an e-mail to everyone who entered today and we’ll be drawing the winner tomorrow. I’m saying this now because if you did not receive that e-mail, go check your spam filters now because you don’t want to not win this contest just because you didn’t get the message. It should be coming from dustin@plusonecomic.com. Also, if you entered the contest and didn’t get that message, please send me an e-mail ASAP so I can get you into the contest. You have about 5 seconds left by the way, so hurry!

I’m still playing around with Molly’s design as you can tell (right as I’m about to introduce a whole new set of characters. I know!). Beleive me, Molly looks a lot better in black/white with her design. I just haven’t gotten it to look good in color.
Here is a panel from today’s comic for reference: http://www.plusonecomic.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/comic255-Molly-BW.jpg

Molly’s eyes look like a ghost in both BW and color! haha
oh and p.s. what is Anna doing in the background of panel 3?? Sneaky little girl chasing the kitty?

Well, I think it looks better. Maybe you can draw me a better looking Molly head?
And Anna is causing trouble during this comic. It’s a simple sub plot of today’s strip, Anna is chasing Taz around as you can see in panels 3 and 8.
Poor kitty, he will never be able to rest agani.
Moving to the city has got be a rough transition, I remember thinking moving out of the city was tough, but now I’m spoiled to all the land I have and the freedom to be able to allow my kids to play out in the front or back and not have to watch them like a hawk. Moving with a kiddo can be tough too, but Anna’s also young enough she’ll enjoy it just as long as she has items that are hers close in tow.
Love the Gasp and Shock expressions when they shared the news. You don’t get that Shocked expression so much when you say “We’re movin’ to the country”, everyone’s ready to get you moved out so they can start planning when they will come visit and hang out in the great outdoors.

Well, if everything goes to plan for Desmon and Violet, Anna will be too young to even remember the days before the city. As for moving, having gone through it before with a baby, it can be a realy pain. The good news is that my daughter hadn’t aquired thaaaaat much stuff by the time our first move happened.
As for Molly and Gregory, I love that panel as well. I also really like it when comics use the action as “speak” as with Gregory saying “shock”.
And your outdoors place. I hear Texas is nice this year, when are you hosting the next webcomic BBQ…?
Briskest’s on the smoker and ribs are on the rack, pack up the car and start heading SE towards the delicious smells. I’ll have an ice cold sweet tea waiting for y’all and some home made banana pudding.
