This is a digital piece I did called Bunny Maelstrom. It’s an epic fantasy digital painting featuring a young magic bunny in training as he summons the elements. As you can probably guess, it’s not really going as well as he planned.
This piece was drawn digitally via Illustrator and painted in Photoshop. The whole thing took over 7 hours as I had to add more bunnies in the water after I’d initially finished.
I really like the expressions and colors of this, the dark blues and purples really add to the atmosphere and the ocean looks really great. I will admit that I could probably improve on the maelstrom itself but I think the overall feel/mood of it works just fine.
Oh, and my favorite is the bunny in the bottom half that is trying to stay a float but failing to do. That, and the fat bunny sitting on the rock, his look of “wait… this isn’t what should be happening” is great.
In comic news, things are still in the mix. I’m going to continue my digital paintings as they are very enjoyable but plan to come back with more Plus One later. Look forward a blog post soon outlining my plans for Plus One, a new update schedule and other projects that I’m working on. It’s a work-splotion of awesome!
