Desmon Rhodes

Desmon is the type of guy who is easy to get along with and hard not to like. That is what originally caught Violet’s eye. But things have taken an unexpected turn and this 20 something now has to learn what it means to be a parent, a grown up and yet retain his boyish charm. Desmon works from home while doing the stay-at-home Dad thing. It isn’t easy but somebody has to do it.

Violet Wright

Violet just wanted a friend who she could finally have fun with. Well, I guess she’s going to be stuck with this friend for some time to come. Although originally from England, Violet has adapted to the American way of life and enjoys any challenge thrown her way. Though this challenge was not something she was ever expecting.

Anna Rhodes

Anna is the product of luck and spunk. She’s the reason that Desmon and Violet are so close now and is the result of a crazy, hectic and long pregnancy. She’s a huge bundle of energy and is well into her terrible twos. Life is often crazy and overly entertaining when she’s around.

Hogan

Hogan is Desmon’s friend from his college days. He’s a big, tall, nerdy man’s man (as evident by his constant stubble). He’s currently engaged to be married and is looking forward to starting a family. His time with Desmon is often used to talk about being a Dad, going out for some guy time or just simply having the most random conversation possible.

Glinda Rhodes

Desmon’s mother lives by herself after her kids moved away and her husdband died. She’s wasn’t too pleased with the idea of being a grandmother at first but has warmed up to the idea now. When Desmon and Violet decided to move closer to her, she couldn’t be happier. As life seems to be putting itself back together, now she just needs to muster up the energy to start dating again.

Seth Rhodes

Desmon’s brother, Seth lives in the same town as Glinda, his Mom. While he’s good nature and full of spirit, his past is rather clouded with bad events. Not often talked about, Desmon makes reference to it and how much he’s changed and most importantly, how he appreciates him as Anna’s uncle.

Taz

Violet’s overly personal cat Taz is the laid back, nice kind of cat that you’d love to have with a kid. He puts up with Anna rather well, allowing her to crush, cuddle and play with him even though it may cause him some bodily harm. While he’s easy going, he can get pushy sometimes as he searches for food, attention and a nice place to nap.

Ben Bentmiser

Ben loathes children or anything resembling such. As Desmon’s friend, he’s brought into a challenging situation of dealing with the knowledge that his best friend is about to be a father. He offers sage advice in the form of escape plans and cleverly disguised css.

Ben actively left the comic after a particularly dreadful baby sitting experience and when he did, he left Desmon feeling rather lonely and abandonded.

Molly Shoe

Molly is the polar opposite of Ben and can’t wait to see Desmon and Violet’s journey begin. Constantly amazed at the miracle of life, she’s thrilled at every aspect of Violets pregnancy. To describe her as bubbly and enthusiastic would be a huge understatement.
